Chris Rae

Managing Director, Investor Relations

Chris co-founded Storm Capital Partners in 2022 and was a Senior Managing Director at the predecessor business which he founded in 2016. Chris was a Managing Director and Head of Business Development at Sorin Capital Management, LLC, a Stamford, Connecticut-based management firm focused on CMBS and REITs which he joined as an in-house professional in 2014 and converted into an outsourced marketing relationship in 2016. From 2008 to 2013, Chris was a Director of Marketing at S.A.C. Capital Advisors LP (“SAC”), focused on covering all investor types across the Americas. Prior to joining SAC, from 2006 to 2008, Chris was a Managing Director, Client Relations at Chilton Investment Company focused on raising capital from institutional investors.

From 2003 to 2006, Chris was a Vice President at Goldman, Sachs & Co. working within the Equities and Fixed Income Divisions as a member of the Pensions Services Group providing institutional sales coverage for pensions, endowments, and foundations. Prior to 2003, Chris was an Associate in Goldman’s Investment Banking Division primarily covering natural resources and industrial companies. Chris earned both a Bachelor of Arts degree and a Master of Arts degree in Philosophy from Stanford University and both a Juris Doctor degree and Master of Business Administration degree from Duke University. Chris was on the board and is a past-President of The Association of Investment Management Sales Executives (“AIMSE”).

John Schraff

Managing Director, Business Development EMEA

John is a seasoned finance professional with over 41 years of experience in global financial markets. A 1983 graduate of Penn State University with a B.S. in Finance, he began his career as a member of the New York Stock Exchange (1984–1987) before taking on roles at Daiwa, Oppenheimer, and Paribas on Wall Street. In 1998, John relocated to London, where he held senior leadership positions, including Partner at Execution Ltd. and Managing Director roles at WestLB, HSBC, RBS, and DNB. Most recently, he served as CEO of Winterflood Securities US, capping a distinguished career across both U.S. and European markets.

Outside of work, John enjoys reading, cooking, sailing, and golf. He maintains residences in Westport, County Mayo (Ireland) and Cape May, New Jersey. Above all, he is the proud father of three.

Alex Chehansky

Partner, Managing Director, Head of Distribution US/UK/EMEA

Alex is Partner, Managing Director, Head of Distribution US/UK/EMEA for SCRED. Prior to joining Sterling, he worked in Investment Banking for several family offices and boutique investment banks in Florida and New York. Additionally, as a serial entrepreneur, he was responsible for the growth of a consumer product company in the food and beverage space. Alex’s primary focus over his career has been in helping create new business platforms and capital raising from high-net-worth individuals, multi-family offices and RIA’s.

The primary sectors he worked in include real estate, travel and transportation and sports and entertainment. Prior to that career, Alex served as a Surface Warfare Officer in the United States Navy onboard several ships in the Pacific Fleet. Alex has a B.S.in Engineering from the United States Naval Academy; a M.B.A from the University of San Diego and a J.D. from Temple University.
